Yellow Submarine

Here is the latest quilt that was just pulled off the longarm frame.  I am calling it "In a Yellow Submarine".  Now you might ask exactly what does an orange quilt have to do with a yellow submarine and it would be a very valid question.  Don't ask me why but the entire time I was working on this quilt I could not get the Beatles song "Yellow Submarine" out of my head, so this quilt is called "In a Yellow Submarine".

It was quilted with an orange Metro thread on the top and bottom with Warm and Natural batting.

Again we tried a pieced back.  I think I am starting to like pieced backs since they add interest to the quilt.

It was quilted using a pantograph called Romanesque.  Overall I am pleased with the outcome.

A Zig and a Zag

Finished the "Zig A Zag" quilt top and got it quilted.  Used Connecting Threads "Sweet and Sour" fabric.

Quilted it with a zig zag pattern using Isacord gold on the top and Fil-Tec black on the back.

Just need to put the binding on and we'll have another quilt to add to the pile!

An Oldie

Finished quilting the top that I made so long ago I can't remember where I got the pattern or what the name of it was.  I know that it is constructed with thread that I haven't used in about 5 years.

The feathers accented the top quite nicely, gave it more of a formal look.

The black thread shows up well but it does not over power the quilt top color.

I tried a pieced back on this one and think it came out very pretty.

It makes it more of a two sided quilt.

What's New

I have been busy, busy, busy this last week. Started a new quilt with a pattern from Cozy Quilts called "Diamond Head". Haven't gotten too far with this one. At the moment it is just a pile of triangles.

Then had a get together at the Calico Cow and started working on the pattern "It's Hip to Be Square".  This one will be a gift for a friend whose favorite color is orange.  I think I am going to go blind from working on a quilt with so much orange in it!

Next signed up for Eleanor Burns Pattern of the Month, with this month being the "Zig A Zag".  Hopefully will have this quilt top finished up tomorrow.

Then on the longarm have a quilt top that I made so long ago I can't remember where I got the pattern or what the name of it was.

Quilting it with a feather pantograph with black Madeira thread on the top and black Fil-Tec on the bottom.

Trying out a pieced back on this one.  From the little I can view at one time on the frame I think I'm going to like it.
