Finished two of the little counting books.  They are just too cute!

Put these books together using green ribbon and trimmed the pages with lime green Madeira Polyneon thread.

Christmas Present

Mom received her Christmas present so I can post pictures now.  The quilt top was done using batik blues and browns with a navy blue batik for the border.

It is a pretty double quilt top that was quilted using Warm and Natural cotton batting and Superior Magnifico navy blue thread.

It was quilted using a Baptist Fan.  The back is a batik blue leaf print.  The next quilt I do for Mom will have to be a king size.

I love the Magnifico thread, it quilts like a dream. Will definitely be adding to the thread stockpile!

I've Got a Hex On You

Finally finished the binding on the Hexagon quilt, also made a matching pillow case storage bag for it.  Naming it "I've Got a Hex on You", thought it was a cute play on words for the pattern.

I found the pattern for the pillow case on the Quilts of Valor webpage.  It whips up in a jiffy and will make a nice storage bag for the quilt.

The back shows the quilting nicely.  I will be taking it to the Calico Cow Quilt Shop tomorrow to put it up for sale.

Now I'm working on some embroidered counting books. They are just too cute with the tactile pages.

They are appliquéd with a variety of fabrics that coordinate with the text on the page.

I'll be putting several of these up for sale at the local quilt shop.

They are a bit time consuming but are just too cute!!

Finished construction of the Snowman Christmas quilt top.

It is very cheery with the colors and the happy little snowmen.

Another quilt top to add the the longarm pile!!

New Quilt Tops

Finally finished piecing the Square-On-A-Square quilt.  It came out quite nicely.  It is another quilt that I will be keeping and using for my bed.

It was pieced with a pattern from Cozy Quilts using two Cherry Bali Pops.  I supplemented the fabric with Cheddar and Wine Hoffman Bali Watercolors.

The next project I designed.  The piecing is done using Christmas fabrics with Dakota Collectibles Playful Snowmen machine embroidered in the center of the stars.

Currently I only have 6 blocks completed but it is coming along nicely.

Hex

I haven't posted in awhile.  The last quilt I did was a Christmas present for my Mom so it isn't going to get posted here until after she gets it.  The quilt that I'm working on now I'm calling Hex.  It is a pattern from Brenda Henning and is a bright and colorful quilt.

Using Quilters Dream Select Poly batting, Superior Mono Poly thread on the top and a bright pink Metro thread on the back.

Using Anne Bright's Blooming Things pantograph, the pattern is similar to the pattern in fabric on the borders.

I am thinking about putting this one up for sale at the Calico Cow, the local quilt shop since I don't think I have the room to store many more quilts.  I still have about 30 quilt tops that I have made and yet to quilt!

Batting Bar

I do not like my batting laying on the floor so my husband made a batting bar for my longarm machine.  He did a wonderful job and it works great!  No more batting on the floor.  Hip hip hurray for the hubby!!

The latest quilt is the last one for the granddaughter.  I think she should have enough quilts to last her until she is at least 5 years old!!

I quilted it with Perma Core magenta thread on the top, a matching pale lavender Metro thread on the back and Warm and Natural cotton batting.

The Circle Lord Zig Zag boards produced a nice texture on the quilt.

Next up Mom's Christmas quilt.  Now if I could only hand stitch binding down as fast as I can quilt the tops!

Doll's Quilt

Loaded a small Twister quilt that I made to test out the Twister pattern that I thought would make a good doll's quilt for the granddaughter.

Used the Urban Elementz pantograph Animal Crackers with a lime green Metro thread on the front and white Fil-Tec thread on the back.

With using a piece of flannel for a thin batting I was not sure that I would be able to balance the stitches but didn't even have to make any adjustments and it stitched perfectly!!!  I love, love, love my AQPS Millennium machine.

No lime green peaking through on the back.

No white peaking through on the front.  It just doesn't get any better than this!

Pantograph

Loaded a new quilt top and thought I would try a pantograph on this one.

Using Quilters Dream Select Poly, maroon Metro poly thread and Urban Elementz pantograph Alfresco, which is a cute little daisy like flower with a leaf.

Here is another amusing picture of one of my dogs.  She is sound a sleep, 20 toes up!!  I have to give her credit, she can make you laugh!

Twirls

Here is the latest quilt top.  I'm calling it Twirls.  When I made this quilt top I had the idea of fun, kid fabric with the thought of giving it to my granddaughter.

I think it is a bright, fun looking quilt top.  Quilting it using the Cosmos pattern with Quilters Dream Deluxe Poly.

I am using Linda Taylors Spearmint thread which glows in the dark!!  Check it out.  Now how cool is that!!

Latest

Finally finished binding the first two experiment quilts.  Finished the quilting on my "Cog" quilt.  I thought that it came out quite nice.

The back shows the texture quite nicely.

The latest top that I am quilting is a king size, 110 x 110.  This one will be getting used as soon as it gets done.  I told my husband that I was going to make a quilt big enough that even I couldn't hog it all!

Using the Cosmos pattern with a cream thread and the medium weight cotton Quilters Dream batting.  I am quite pleased with how it is looking.

And just for amusement here is a picture of my Newfoundland and my Chihuahua mix.  I'm not sure how the little one wedged herself behind the Newfoundland but they are the bestest of buds and sleep together quite frequently.

Spicy Table Runner

Took the day off Saturday and took a class that the Forget-Me-Knot Quilters Guild sponsored for the Spicy Table Runner.  What a fun class and it was great to get out and do a little fabric therapy.

I think the table runner turned out quite nice.  Will be making a few more of these and will be using the 9 degree ruler and trying a few other new patterns.

Quilt Two

Well just had my birthday.  What a bummer!  I think Einstein should have postulated about how time goes by faster as you get older because it sure seems to be happening!  Got the big grocery shopping trip in Fairbanks taken care of.  Hopefully won't have to do another big shopping trip until spring.  Driving 100 miles with snow and ice on the road in the pitch black isn't much fun.

Finished my second quilt on the longarm.  Used the Circle Lord Swirls board for this one.  Once again it started out jerky, not very smooth and I kept missing the fillers for the circles.

But practice makes perfect.  By the end, it was looking much smoother and I was not missing the fillers.

Another quilt that isn't pretty but it will still be warm and it will get used.
